It’s Powerjam’s 10th anniversary! We’d like to thank all of you for your continued support and also share some recent exciting news about our Twickenham not-for-profit band academy & initiative for 9-18 year olds!

A Powerjam produced, recorded, and released song by Powerjam band, ‘Zlats’ was featured on Love Island All Stars 2025! Also on the official ‘Love Island All Stars 2’ Spotify playlist, the original song was aired on Valentine’s Day 2025 and played on the show during a one minute scene! We couldn’t be more proud of ‘Zlats’!! Powerjam’s not-for-profit record label allows all our young musicians to retain full copyright ownership of their songs - very possibly one of the first labels of its kind! We’re thrilled to announce that Powerjam has received ‘Music School of the Year Award 2025/26 - London & South East Prestige Awards’! The award recognizes Powerjam's innovative approach and commitment to excellence in music education specifically acknowledging “the personalised service-driven focus that is often void from larger organisations”. We take great pride in what we’ve managed to achieve over the past 10 years despite the relatively small size of our non-selective initiative and resources - from matching up young musical applicants and forming bands, to providing weekly tutor-led band rehearsals and songwriting sessions, numerous gigs per year, and even professionally recording and releasing our bands’ music on all streaming platforms. Powerjam was also recognized for its outstanding contributions at the 2024 Music and Education Awards in January 2025 and shortlisted in the ‘Progressive And Inclusive Music Education’ category.

We’re honoured to have been voted one of The Big Issue Changemakers of 2025 by public vote! With disadvantaged young musicians and those with SEN now representing 40% of our students, this recognition celebrates our decade-long commitment to inclusivity. This unique approach has proven year after year that mixing socio-economic backgrounds is both inspiring and educational, leading to enhanced creativity, and that our music program transcends boundaries. Powerjam members learn to collaborate towards a common goal and gain invaluable life skills such as tolerance and teamwork. Over 55 performances in the past year
Maintaining high quality at Powerjam is paramount to achieving our aims. Quality band music not only instills pride in our young members and keeps them engaged, but also ensures our exciting, stage-ready performances continue to entertain the community!
2025 - Powerjam’s 10th anniversary
Powerjam was founded as a charitable rock & pop band initiative in 2015 by Director Anna Texier, who runs Powerjam on a full time volunteer basis alongside Dr. Andrei Sora (Co-director and music producer). Whilst the vehicle is music education, Powerjam is much more than a music project, having broader and more imperative aims for this age group. We provide a personalised and supportive environment where young people can explore their musical passions, develop musical and life skills, and gain valuable experience performing in a band setting. To gain a deeper understanding of Powerjam's mission, vision, and the work with young musicians, we invite you to watch our new video: https://youtu.be/1KvmzRMx5uQ

Help us continue our mission
We're seeing an unprecedented number of disadvantaged and young people with SEN and mental health issues applying to our program, with our waiting list continuing to grow whilst funding is more challenging than ever to secure. You can help us continue our mission simply by spreading the word, following Powerjam and sharing our posts to raise public awareness through various media platforms, or connecting us to organizations or skilled people willing to volunteer their time and expertise.
Thank you for the overwhelming support over the past 10 years!
